John has worked across the scientific and informatics arenas for over 40 years at GSK and its former companies. In that time, he has managed a wide range of analytical functions including NMR, X-ray crystallography, mass spectrometry, physical chemistry, and chromatography. He also has a considerable background in chemical structure representation and registration. On the informatics side, he has managed projects to create a global scientific data management system as well as writing software to control analytical instruments and perform data transformation and analysis. Most recently, he and his team wrote a software suite to automate LCMS purification factories in the US and UK. John’s core scientific background is in NMR and is the co-author of a popular NMR textbook together with a former GSK colleague.
