David studied Chemistry at the University of Sheffield and went on to do his PhD in the theory and simulation of liquid crystal in the same institution. After completing his doctorate David took up a post-doctoral position in the Department of Physics in the Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana (UAM) in Mexico City which led to a lectureship in the Institute of Physics at the University of Guanajuato, Mexico.
David returned to the UK with an MRC fellowship to work in the Medical Imaging department at the University of Manchester, which led full circle back to chemistry and NMR. In 2006 he took up the senior experimental officer position in the newly formed Centre for Magnetic Resonance at the University of York.
In 2011 David moved from Academia to industry working at Oxford Instruments on their benchtop NMR project. In 2019 he moved to JEOL before joining Mestrelab in 2022. With his interested ranging from theory and computer simulation to experimental data analysis, David is excited to be joining the Mestrelab Research team.
In his spare time David is a rugby coach and an enthusiastic amateur bass player.
